The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) offers various streams providing a pathway to permanent residence in Ontario. Individuals interested in applying must first register through either the Expression of Interest (EOI) or Express Entry system to be considered for one of the nine available streams, as outlined by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program on ontario.ca.
The OINP categorizes its streams into three main groups: Employer Job Offer Streams, Human Capital Streams, and Business Stream.
Employer Job Offer Streams
This category includes three streams for foreign workers who have received a job offer from an eligible Ontario employer. The Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream targets skilled foreign workers. The Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream is designed for recent international graduates with job offers. The Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream focuses on individuals in specific skilled trades and other in-demand occupations.
Human Capital Streams
Human Capital Streams are for individuals with specific skills, work experience, and educational backgrounds. The Masters Graduate Stream and PhD Graduate Stream are for individuals who have completed postgraduate degrees from eligible Ontario universities. The French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream targets French-speaking skilled workers who also qualify for Express Entry. The Human Capital Priorities Stream identifies candidates from the Express Entry pool who meet Ontario's specific labor market needs.
Business Stream
Ontario also operates a stream for entrepreneurs. The Entrepreneur Stream is for experienced business owners or senior managers from outside Canada who are interested in establishing a new business or buying an existing business in Ontario. This stream requires applicants to meet specific net worth and investment criteria.
Each stream has distinct eligibility requirements, including factors such as education, work experience, language proficiency, and financial capacity. Applicants are encouraged to review the specific criteria for the stream they are interested in on the official Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program website.
