Trust & transparency
Editorial standards and trust framework
Every immigration statement published by CAN·MIGRATE is written against these policies. They set out who writes and reviews our content, which sources govern, how often pages are refreshed, how we correct errors, and the limits of what information on this site can do for you.
Editorial standards
How CAN-MIGRATE decides what to publish, who writes it, and what qualifies as a supportable statement.
Who writes and reviews content
Immigration content is drafted by the CAN-MIGRATE editorial team and reviewed by a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants before publication. The reviewer and review date appear on each page.
What we will not publish
We do not publish guaranteed outcomes, processing-time promises, cut-off score predictions presented as fact, or any statement we cannot attribute to a government source or to regulated professional judgement.
- No guaranteed approvals or 'success rate' claims.
- No invented statistics or unattributed figures.
- No content generated and published without human review.
Content review policy
Every page has a named owner, a reviewer and a scheduled review date.
Review cadence
Core program and tool pages are reviewed every 30 to 45 days. Supporting guides are reviewed at least every 90 days. Review dates and the reviewing team are shown on the page itself.
Out-of-cycle review
A review is triggered immediately when Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada changes program requirements, when processing standards change materially, when a new stream is announced, when a Provincial Nominee Program changes, or when the annual Immigration Levels Plan is released.
Update policy
Evergreen topics are updated in place at a stable URL rather than republished.
Stable URLs
Pages covering Express Entry, the Provincial Nominee Program, study permits, work permits, Labour Market Impact Assessments, family sponsorship and Permanent Residence are permanent addresses. We update the content beneath them instead of publishing year-stamped replacements.
What counts as an update
Substantive updates change the last-updated date and are recorded in the page's revision history. Typographical and formatting corrections do not change the date.
Source policy
Government sources govern. Everything else is labelled.
Source hierarchy
Canada.ca and provincial immigration ministries are the governing sources for requirements, fees and processing times. Regulator publications govern statements about representation. Where our wording and an official source differ, the official source is correct.
Three-way labelling
Each factual block is labelled as an official government requirement, a professional recommendation from a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, or editorial explanation. Readers can always see which is which.
Fact checking policy
Claims are verified against a primary source before publication.
Verification
Every requirement, deadline, document and fee statement is checked against the current government page at the time of writing and again at each scheduled review. Volatile figures such as fee amounts and cut-off scores are described as variable and linked rather than restated as fixed numbers.
Automated checks
Automated governance checks run against the content registries and flag duplicate titles, duplicate meta descriptions, duplicate headings, missing FAQs, missing structured data, broken internal links, outdated review dates, thin content, missing internal links and keyword overlap between pages.
Correction policy
Errors are corrected promptly and disclosed on the page.
How to report an error
Report a suspected error through the contact form or by replying to any message from our team. Include the page address and the statement in question.
How corrections are handled
Material corrections are made as soon as they are verified, the last-updated date changes, and the correction is recorded in the page's revision history. We do not silently remove incorrect statements.
Legal disclaimer
Information on this site is general and is not legal advice.
General information only
Content on CAN-MIGRATE is general information about Canadian immigration programs. It is not legal advice and does not create a consultant–client relationship. Advice on an individual case is given only through a signed retainer with a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant.
Decisions rest with the government
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and the provinces decide every application. No assessment, score, report or readiness result produced on this site is a decision, a prediction of a decision, or a guarantee of any outcome.
Privacy policy
What personal information is collected, why, and how it is protected.
Summary
We collect only the information needed to run an assessment, respond to an enquiry or deliver a service, and we do not sell personal information. The full policy sets out retention, access rights and contact details for privacy requests.
Accessibility statement
We build to WCAG 2.1 Level AA and fix reported barriers.
Our target
CAN-MIGRATE is built against WCAG 2.1 Level AA: semantic headings, keyboard-operable interfaces, visible focus states, text alternatives for meaningful images, and colour contrast that meets the AA thresholds.
Reporting a barrier
If any part of the site prevents you from completing a task, contact us with the page address and the assistive technology you use. We treat accessibility barriers as defects and prioritise them accordingly.
Report an error
If something on this site is wrong or out of date, tell us the page address and the statement in question. We verify, correct and record the change.
