Consolidated Categories
These changes will consolidate nine existing categories into three main categories: International Skilled Worker, Saskatchewan Experience, and Entrepreneur and Farm Categories. This restructuring aims to streamline the application process and provide clearer pathways for immigrants to Saskatchewan.
Focus on High-Skilled Workers
The program's objective is to attract high-skilled workers to the province. A priority will be placed on individuals who have secured offers of employment in Saskatchewan, indicating a direct contribution to the provincial economy and workforce. The International Skilled Worker category is designed to bring in individuals with in-demand skills.
Integration of Family Referral Category
The previous Family Referral Category will be merged into the International Skilled Worker category. This integration suggests a re-evaluation of how family connections are considered within the broader skilled worker framework, aligning it more closely with the province's economic and labor market needs.
Entrepreneur and Farm Categories
The Entrepreneur and Farm Categories will continue to facilitate immigration for individuals looking to establish or purchase businesses and farms in Saskatchewan. Implementation Date
The improvements to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program are scheduled to take effect on January 2, 2014.
