The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has announced its participation in National Francophone Immigration Week 2026, highlighting opportunities for French-speaking individuals to study, work, and settle across the province.
Promoting Francophone Pathways to Manitoba
During the annual observance of National Francophone Immigration Week, Manitoba is emphasizing the immigration streams available to French-speaking candidates. The initiative focuses on attracting and retaining newcomers who can contribute to the vitality of the province's Francophone minority communities. Through the MPNP, qualified individuals with French proficiency may access dedicated pathways or gain additional points when submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province.
Federal and Provincial Cooperation
This promotional effort is supported by funding from the Government of Canada under the Canada–Manitoba Agreement on French-Language Services. The multi-year bilateral agreement facilitates the planning and delivery of French-language services and supports initiatives aimed at strengthening Francophone communities. By partnering on immigration outreach, both levels of government continue to work toward national and regional targets for Francophone immigration outside Quebec.
Community Profiles and Promotional Resources
As part of the campaign, the province released a promotional video designed to showcase the daily life, institutions, and economic benefits available to Francophone newcomers. The resource highlights educational institutions, cultural organizations, and local business environments that support French-speaking residents throughout urban and rural Manitoba. These materials aim to give prospective immigrants a realistic overview of integration services and community support structures.
Information for Prospective Applicants
French-speaking foreign nationals interested in settling in Manitoba can review MPNP streams, which include pathways for skilled workers, international education graduates, and business investors. Applicants must demonstrate language ability through approved French language tests, such as the TEF Canada or TCF Canada, to claim language points under the MPNP assessment grids.
