Prince Edward Island is observing Acadian Heritage Month throughout August with various community-led activities. These initiatives are designed to celebrate Acadian history and culture and highlight their importance to the province's socioeconomic and cultural identity.

The newly established Acadian Heritage Month Fund supports these activities. Eight community-led projects have received funding through this initiative, according to Prince Edward Island News.

One recipient, La Belle-Alliance, received $3,500 from the fund. This allocation will enable the Acadian community in the Summerside–Miscouche region to further explore and value their heritage. The funding aims to support events that promote cultural understanding and engagement within the community.

Organizations and communities across the Island are participating, ensuring widespread recognition of Acadian contributions. The month-long celebration underscores the provincial government's commitment to acknowledging and preserving the cultural diversity that shapes Prince Edward Island.
